Trish - Successful but too busy
for work / life balance



Problem
Trish was running an already successful public relations consultancy in a specialized niche market. She was already recognized as one of the top in her industry, winner of several awards and had built a solid reputation on delivering on time and in budget.

She seemed to have it all happening for her, but she was not getting a good work/life balance, taking on too many projects and not delegating enough.
Also she wanted to be able to ensure she continued to deliver great service to her top anchor clients who were accountable for a large part of her annual revenue.

Solution
Firstly we worked at getting Trish clear about her long and short term goals and then set about a plan to review these on a regular basis – this helped her maintain focus as to weekly and monthly milestones.

Then we set about defining some depth to the business in looking at the VP’s – Vision, Purpose, Values & Passions – this became the reference basis for all new opportunities – was the opportunity ‘on brand’ or was it going to prove a distraction that compromised the VP’s?

Needing to find some help was also a key to keeping that balance so we were able to establish some clear criteria for contract staff and set about finding them.

This all gave Trish enough time to look strategically at the business and what was needed to communicate a clear message about what her company did.

Result
The next year was Trish’s best ever, an 18% increase in revenues with minimal cost overhead increase. Trish was able to see the big picture, to recognize priorities and create a brand for her company. This strategy meant there was some immediate gains for the business and it set a path for future growth.
